The Baja 1000. Fast Pass
(San Ysidro Only) There is a Dedicated Fast Pass Lane for sin-
gle use passes offered by many hotels and other establishments. It is generally free, the hotels wanting to help tourists return to the U.S. fast and easy. The Fast Pass Lane cuts off a signifi- cant portion of the border line. You turn in the single use pass at the border. Ask at the hotel before you check in. Nor-
mally there is one Fast Pass per room per stay. The Fast Pass lane is open from 8am to 10pm.
Ready Lane The Ready Lanes have designated en-
trances and only accept RFID Cards (Radio Frequency ID), most people using a pre-pro- grammed passport card. It costs $55 for first
timers and $30 for previous passport holders. Valid for 10 years. These lanes, run by Customs and Border
Protection, accept various RFID cards, for ex- ample the Passport Card, SENTRI card, en- hanced driver’s licenses (EDL), etc. Electronic passports with the chip do not work in this lane. Check
