Cirencester Scene Magazine - Supporting Local Businesses - Buy Locally!

Are you a singer/songwriter, do you have your own band or maybe you just want to understand music theory and write your own compositions using standard notation?

Martin Milnes teaches composition and music arrangement using computer software including Sibelius and Band-in-a-Box.

You can learn how to write music arrangements, compose original scores and create backing tracks. You can also understand how to publish your music in print and sell on Amazon and publish audio & video to Internet sharing sites like SoundCloud, Vimeo, YouTube and MySpace

If you need to promote yourself, your band and your music then Martin will show you how to use all the Social Media including the music related media Reverbnation and SongKick. Also, how to create a website or a blog with embedded social media apps.

Martin also offers tuition in recording, using effects pedals and microphones, audio capture and sound editing. Instrument tuition can also be included into a very flexible programme. Instruments include Saxophone, Trombone and Trumpet. Martin was Musical Director of the Big Brunch Band for 7 years and arranged many big band scores for them including versions of music in the style of Jools Holland’s R&B Orchestra. Over the last 30 years he has played in brass bands, wind bands and orchestras.

Last year Martin formed a 3-piece horn section called Red Hat Horns and this group has become part of the Cirencester based band “The Curious Little Big Band”. See Martin on trombone in the show reel on their YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/curiouslittlebigband

The horn section plays from music arranged especially for The CLBB by Martin. They enhance the performance with rhythmic punctuations and just a little touch of choreography!

Acoustic Sundays LRS Productions

May 11th 2-4pm

Following a very successful start last month, featuring Ethemia, the Brewery Arts cafe will have a second acoustic open stage hosted by Phill Keen from 14:00 to 16:00. Bring an instrument and play some music in the cafe to celebrate NBA opening on Sundays until December. Or just sit back and enjoy with coffee and cakes!

With great food, cakes and drinks available, this monthly event will also help raise money for NBA, which is a charity.

In traditional busking style, guests can donate money that will go to NBA and support the organisation in its many community projects.
