Make 2014 The year of colour
for woodcare
Think about paint and colour and you’ll probably automatically think of interiors – but, when used outdoors, eye-catching shades can deliver even more impact. When used on wood, bold, bright colours can make a place
warmer, more welcoming – and much more attractive. Combining colour and wood protection needs some thought to ensure the colour is matched correctly – and the system delivers the necessary protection. To help decorating professionals make informed choices about
colour, Sadolin has produced a video dedicated to the subject. Entitled The Sadolin Colour Palette – Great Shades and Wood Protection As Standard, the film explores the sheer range of colour opportunities available. The video is available to view on the Sadolin website at
www.sadolin.co.uk or on the Sadolin Woodcare YouTube channel at
www.youtube.com/user/SadolinWoodcare As well as identifying ways to achieve sensational shades, the
subjects of translucency and opacity are also covered in the film. The video is supported by the Sadolin Superdec Colour Guide, designed to show decorators how this opaque wood protection product offers the freedom to transform wood, with over 300 available shades. Sharon Smith, Sadolin’s Brand Manager, said: “It would be great to see more colour used in 2014, as it brings so much to the
environment. Decorators are familiar with the usual woodtones, but many don’t realise that we also offer many other inspirational shades available – and choosing these colours in no way compromises the performance of the products.” “Our video and colour guide have been developed to enable
decorators to get the complete picture on Sadolin Superdec - and introduce more colour to outdoor projects.” Sadolin Superdec offers superior colour retention qualities, achieved
by the use of specially selected light-filtering pigments to ensure longer-lasting shades. It offers up to eight years’ protection against the elements, and superb flexibility - achieving a solid, paint-like finish that won’t flake or peel. Furthermore, Sadolin Superdec requires very little preparation, is
self-priming on new timber and can also be applied over existing woodstain or paint. The new colour guide also refers to PaintSpec Finder®
line resource - launched by Crown Paints at
www.crownpaintspec.co.uk - to generate tailor-made, accurate specifications for masonry and exterior trim projects. Users are guided through a series of brief questions to identify
which Sadolin products are suitable for selection for their individual specification projects. This versatile tool may also be used to specify appropriate paint
systems from the other professional brands in the Crown Paints family, including Crown Trade and Sandtex Trade, for use on a wide variety of additional substrates.
