LeRay Pahl is not an uncommon face on the Cypress County council. He's been on council for 28 years. LeRay grew up in Medicine Hat and has ranched north of the city since 1971. Two sons run cattle with him, while his other son lives in Medicine Hat. He has also been involved with the Medicine Hat Stampede and Exhibition for 40 years. He originally joined council because he had an interest in politics and now says his focus is dealing with whatever pops up. He says Walsh and Irvine are in need of a viable water supply, thus he would like to finish the water line this term. His focus is ongoing; dealing with whatever major or minor problems that occur along the way.

Bob Olson has spent his whole life in the Cypress County. He describes himself as a born and raised farmer/rancher from Jenner. After graduating from Medicine Hat High School, he married his wife, Yvonne. Bob and Yvonne's three kids and six grandkids all live in the Brooks area. This is his second term on council, representing the Jenner/Suffield area, but Bob says the whole county is his concern. He would like to see the completion of the major water project to Irvine and Walsh. Bob says his position allows him to help the community and his way of giving back.
