DB Roberts won the Top Business for Protection award with 2-5 advisers. In 2013, they banked over £300,000 of protection business; combined with some of the best cross- sales for family and income protection in MAB, making them truly worthy winners.
Jo Culley, Sales Director for DB Roberts, revealed on stage that the business is now growing again and will soon be at 11 advisers, 6 of which she wants in the top 15 advisers at MAB in 2014 - a great attitude from a business that already had 3 advisers in the top 10 in 2013.
Well done to Jigsaw FS, trading from Manning Stainton estate agents in Leeds, for winning the Top Business for Protection category with 6 or more advisers in their first year with MAB.
And with statistics like this, it comes as no surprise why: 60% life-to- mortgages, 23% income protection for 2013, and £1.4m of production with over £800,000 made up from protection & GI-related all show that the focus from Steve Murgatroyd and his team is to be admired.
With the Mortgage Market Review being implemented in just a few months, it is crucial that we approach mortgage business in the right way and work with lenders on getting it right first time, every time.
Police Mutual has achieved this, and based on a combination of lender management information and MAB sales quality checks, they are the winners of the first annual award for business quality.

The Top Business Partner award was strongly contested by both Coreco Group and Capital Private Finance, but it was Mortgage Bureau that scooped the award with over £3.3m of written business in 2013.
Mortgage Bureau is the market leader in the new build arena, providing a great service to builders and customers alike. The business has ambitious plans so they will not be letting go of this award easily, despite fierce competition from a growing number of businesses.
