longside our advisers, we want to celebrate the successes of the businesses’ that have performed to an exceptional standard in 2013.


The business awards showed what can be achieved with great winning attitudes. Much of the focus at the conference was on the importance of keeping the customer at the heart of what we do, whether at initial point-of-sale by delivering a consistently high level of advice, or post-sale and post-completion in terms of service and communication.


The most successful businesses are the most consistent and have a clear customer experience that the owner ensures is delivered by everybody in the business. For example, in such businesses it is impossible for one adviser to have strong protection sales and another not, as that demonstrates the standard of service and advice being dictated by each adviser, rather than reflecting the businesses’ values and standards.


All our winning businesses are run by owners that are very clear about what their standards are and what they want their customer experience to be. Their standards are extremely high, and they control every outcome in their businesses rather than let outcomes just happen.


That is not easy to achieve but it’s what makes you hugely successful, so very well done to you all.


Winner of Top Estate Agency Business for Referrals was Ryder & Dutton.


They have had a real focus on improving all aspects of their mortgage business, including lead generation in 2013. The business averaged over 30 appointments per month for each of their advisers in 2013 and finished with over 2,300 completed appointments for the year.


With many of their staff making the Lead Referrer Club top 20 in 2013, we are sure that they will be challenging for the top spot again this year.


Chris has had a fantastic year and has had more challengers during 2013 than ever before. But, in a closely run competition, he is our Top Individual for Referrals for the third year in a row!


Chris operates out of Castles Estate Agents in Swindon. With Castles being a business that constantly sets the bar high, it is no surprise that the 2nd best referrer in over 900 branches, Charlie Brandstatter who is also a Castles adviser - was shortlisted for the Top Estate Agency Business for Referrals award.


The team at Castles have been fantastic, and were recently filmed as part of our new estate agency lead generation package due to be released this month on MAB Online.
