Glasgow Chamber’s mission to help our members and to boost the city region’s economy.” Selina and Blair join existing
Projects Team member Shona MacPherson who is the Workforce Solutions Executive. Workforce Solutions helps Glasgow Chamber members through the complexities of adding to employee teams and accessing any grants and loans available to aid that process.
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce is launching a new service to help businesses check and realise their potential for trading online. The eTradeTester will analyse a business and produce a personalised report and consultation guiding it on how best to use ecommerce to access a wider market. Whether a business is
already trading online or is considering moving into this market, the eTradeTester aims to provide detailed, independent guidance. This guidance will include market trends, the geographic distribution of those markets, profitability and growth limitations. Glasgow Chamber is launching the new service as a joint venture with INDEZ, the Glasgow-based global ecommerce specialists. Alison McRae, Glasgow
Chamber’s Projects Director, said: “Glasgow Chamber of Commerce spotted a gap in the market in this key area and we are working in partnership with INDEZ to bring the product to life. This offers significant potential for business start-ups, SMEs or corporates wanting to exploit the global ecommerce opportunity.” Peter Mowforth, founder of INDEZ, said: “What we‘re offering businesses is the equivalent of a credit check in regard to ecommerce. “The potential for ecommerce
is vast – official figures from the Office of National Statistics suggest that the estimated value of ecommerce to British business was £483 billion in 2011 and it will be much bigger now. “Yet 99 per cent of businesses fail because they don’t have their online platform right – what eTradeTester will do is to ensure that the platform is right and that businesses can realise their potential for trading online.”
