On 1 October 2013, the amended Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 came into force, removing the requirement for the HSE to approve first aid training and qualifications. Tis change allows businesses to have more flexibility in how they manage their provision of first aid in the workplace. However, this does not change the requirement for employers to make an assessment of their business to establish what first aid provision is needed. Te assessment must take
into account, among other things, the number of employees, size, location and work activities being undertaken. As a previous HSE-approved provider, City of Glasgow College can assist with advice on the level of training
required to meet your responsibilities. Delivered by our team of
experienced accident and emergency practitioners and trainers, we offer a full programme of First Aid at Work training (SQA Approved – emergency, one day, three day and refresher courses). We provide Defibrillator and Emergency CPR courses and can tailor our training packages to fit your business. We also offer a range of
Manual Handling training including Moving, Assisting and Positioning of People and Manual Handling of Goods.
