New year...new focus G

» Glasgow Chamber provides a wide range of training for businesses How To ... ... workshops

et 2014 off to the best possible start by investing in your greatest asset – your

people. At Glasgow Chamber, we continue to work in partnership with our member companies to bring you a wide range of training and development solutions for businesses of all sizes and sectors. Also, through our partnerships with Glasgow City Council and Skills Development Scotland, we can help identify sources of funding. Glasgow Chamber has been

successfully delivering training and development programmes for more than 30 years. We are now building on that success by working even more closely with our training partners to ensure that we bring you the most up-to-date thinking. Our solutions fall into five areas:

open programmes, tailored programmes, international trade training, How To ... workshops and Focus workshops.

Open programmes

We currently work in partnership with GTG Training, City of

Glasgow College, Tennent’s Training Academy, Exporter Services, FQM, Innermetrix, Postable and Stewart First Aid to provide a comprehensive programme which includes personal development, business skills, management and leadership skills, IT, hospitality trade training, international trade, social media, first aid and health and safety as well as quality management training, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Te programmes are delivered

by experienced trainers with a wealth of knowledge and in a variety of venues across the city.

Tailored training programmes

Over the last year, we have delivered a number of tailored training programmes which have included customer care, supervisory, management and leadership skills, as well as IT and international trade. Many businesses choose the tailored option, as every programme is precisely shaped to their specific needs and can offer scenarios and case studies which are relevant to

their business and culture. Training programmes can give

flexibility to cover the issues that are important for the business. Tere is also the advantage that participants will benefit from the team-building experience and gain a beter understanding of their colleagues. Also, businesses can choose the time and place to suit their own commitments and to cut down the time employees are out of the office.

International Trade training

Glasgow Chamber’s international trade team provides professional advice and documentation services for those companies trading overseas. Complementing these services, the training department offers an extensive programme of international trade training, including export and import procedures, leters of credit, incoterms, bonds and guarantees, dangerous and hazardous goods. Our international training programmes are run every month as open programmes, but can also be delivered as tailored training programmes.

Our How To ... ... workshops may be the short business development solution you are looking for, covering topics such as Networking Without Nerves, Transforming your Business with Facebook, Public Speaking, Successful Selling and Google Analytics. Delivered by members for members, these give tips to use for quick impact.

Focus workshops

Our Focus workshops build on the subject mater of the How To ... ... workshops and are delivered in a three-hour session with a limited number of delegates, to expand your knowledge of topics such as Twiter, Facebook, YouTube, blogging, public speaking and cold calling.
