proactive stances over the past few years to thwart the behavior on school buses.


Additionally, Seon is donating a portion of


the proceeds of every bus camera system sold between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2013, to anti-bully- ing education for school transportation, as well as a percentage to organizations like, “Te Bully Project.” Te total donation amounts to $25,000. “School bus cameras help dissuade bullies


from acting out, and if they do act out, digital camera systems record the event so that proper consequence can be decided on,” O’Grady states.


“Te support from our customers, media contacts, school district staff, employees, community advocates, and other anti-bullying organizations has been overwhelming. We all have the same goal: to raise awareness and provide resources to support anti-bullying strategies.” Martin adds, “It’s not something surreptitious


anymore. Just about every state has a specific statement about the intolerance of bullying in education and on the bus in particular. We’ve got federal and state levels of support for attempting to address the issue.” However, he points out the challenge for


transportation departments is “ensuring where the rubber meets the road that we not only have awareness and effective policies but that we have
