School Transportation News: Te biggest news for


you recently is the addition of the Cummins ISB to the CE Series school bus. How’s that going, and what impact do you


forecast that will have on your business? John McKinney: Te response from our customers and dealers has been tremendous, and I think that’s a real testa- ment to the product. Te CE Series has long been the leading conventional school bus in the industry, and now it’s available with the largest selection of diesel engines in the industry. Adding the ISB to our portfolio gives us the opportunity to serve a different customer base—those who are familiar with and loyal to Cummins’ engines and their technology—and to encourage them to come be with the best.


STN: Can you comment on the future of the International


diesel engines? McKinney: Our strategy is simple—it’s one of choice. We

have a choice of technologies and a choice of configurations from a choice of manufacturers. We’re very satisfied with our current engine offerings, especially with the addition of the ISB in October, because offering more choices and combina- tions is great for our customers.
