Friday 6th December. Doune Christmas Fair at The Cross. 6.00pm to 9pm. Santa Claus arrives at 6.45pm. The shops stay open, plus there are various stalls, entertainment & a marvellous atmosphere!
• Monday 9th December Dunblane Civic Society meets at 7:30pm in the Braeport Centre. Hugh Grant will give a talk on “Balochistan to the Balkans for the World Bank”. All welcomed. Visitors’ admission £2.
• Sunday 8th December, Carols for Christmas. 6.30pm at the Victoria Halls. DJ & Nerys, Rev. Nick wth his puppets and the Radio Rainbow Team. All welcome.
• Sunday 8th December, Rosenethe Christmas Concert. The Rosenethe Singers will give their Christmas concert in Dunblane Cathedral at 7.30 pm on Sunday 8 December 2013.
They will be accompanied by the Scottish Bach Players and will perform a
programme of Christmas carols alongside Britten’s dramatic ‘Saint Nicholas’ with international tenor, Andrew Dickinson and a battery of percussion! They will also give the premiere perfomance of ‘At the Manger’ - a setting by 23 year-old Alex Beetschen, a former Dunblane Cathedral treble, of the poem by W H Auden. The programme will include also Britten’s ‘Simple Symphony’. • Wednesday 11th December, W.R.I. 7.30 p.m. in the Victoria Hall when Maureen Buchan will be demonstrating the making of gift boxes, bags, etc. The competition is for a Christmas card in any craft. As well as our members, a warm welcome is extended to any visitor who wishes to come along on the night.

Friday, 13 December Dunblane Civic Society’s Christmas Lunch 12:30pm for 1:00pm at Dunblane Golf Club.
• Sunday 15th December, Carols and Carillons. Concert of Christmas music by Dunblane Cathedral Handbell Ensembles. 7.30pm in Dunblane Cathedral. Tickets £5 available from ringers or at the door on the night. Ticket includes coffee & mincepies.
• Monday 16th December, Dunblane Arthritis Care Christmas Lunch at the Westlands Hotel for members only.

Friday 27th December - The popular Victoria Hall Festive Ceilidh takes place and tickets priced £8 will be on sale in Smallprint in Beech Road from Saturday 23rd November. Music is by the Jack Delaney Band and, as usual, Honest John will be running our Bar. All proceeds raised on the evening including all Bar sales go towards Hall funds so come along and support the upkeep of our fantastic Village Hall.

Forth Valley U3A. Would you like to make some new friends and become involved in a new hobby or interest at the same time to brighten the winter days? That’s what U3A is all about! The groups are very varied and include Current Affairs, Mandarin, Mah-jong, Bridge, Lunch club, Spanish, Line Dancing, Scrabble and Poetry. We are holding our enrolment meetings on Friday 10th January, 10am in the Callander Bridge Project, Callander and 2pm in the Mayfield Centre, St Ninian’s, Stirling. You are warmly invited to come along to either session and discover more about what we do whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and chatting with some of the members.
