Regaining your ex-factor
Bouncing back from divorce takes time but can only work if you learn to love yourself
D
IVORCE IS one of the most stressful, difficult, emotionally painful and financially costly
experiences that a man can go through, especially if there are children involved – but if you are going through a divorce, please know that there is hope. Your life after divorce – for you and your children – can be better than ever, once you get through the difficult times, especially if you are willing to do the hard work of re-evaluating your personal issues and making yourself a better, stronger person. right partner and maintaining stronger relationships. What really helped me recover was studying as a coach and receiving counselling simultaneously to adjust my own thought process and recover my sense of optimism and trust. As my counsellor stated, “Most men would have taken 5 times the length of time that it took me to overcome my pain, and due to studying as a life coach and counselling has enabled Des to come out on the other side on a positive note.” I recovered from my divorce so
relatively quickly because I was able to adopt a mind-set of self-love. I was able to forgive my ex-wife and myself. I was able to visualize a more positive future where I felt empowered and confident. All things are possible
