NEW APPOINTMENTS ARE PAVING THE WAY FOR SUCCESS


Natural Paving Products, the UK’s leading independent supplier of natural stone, has announced the dual appointments of Malcolm Gough as Business Development Director and Alison Lockwood as Commercial Manager. Both bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their new roles and will play an integral part in the company’s overall strategy for growth and expansion.

Alubond aluminium composite sheets have now achieved BBA certification.


RigiSystems has the exclusive rights to distribute Alubond ACM’s in the UK, Republic of Ireland and France.

CERAM BECOMES NOTIFIED BODY UNDER THE CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS REGULATION


Ceram, the international materials technology company, is pleased to announce that they have been designated as a Notified Body under the Construction Products Regulation (305/2011/EU-CPR).


On 1st July 2013, the Construction Products Regulation (305/2011/EU- CPR) replaced the existing Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC-CDP). Under the Construction Products Regulation, it is now mandatory for manufacturers to apply CE marking to any of their construction products covered by a harmonised European standard (hEN) or product specific European Technical Assessment (ETA).


Following on from being a Notified Body under the CPD, Ceram will continue to perform testing to attestation level 3 as a Notified Body for the CE marking of construction products under the CPR.


Dr Stephen Morrey, Manager Quality Assurance & IP, Ceram says, “In order to continue providing clients with the same level of testing service, it was very important to transfer our designation as a Notified Body from the CPD to the CPR before 1st July.


“We are delighted to have been in the first wave of companies designated as a Notified Body under the CPR.”

SPSENVIROWALL APPOINTS NEW MARKETING MANAGER TO SUPPORT GROWTH PLANS


Prior to joining SPSenvirowall, Natasha spent four years working as a marketing executive at Morgan Sindall Construction, where she had responsibility for coordinating events, developing marketing materials and business development.


Mitch Gee, managing director of SPSenvirowall said: “Natasha is joining us at a very exciting time, as we prepare for the expected new business on the back of the government’s Green Deal initiative.

Joining the senior executive team, Malcolm Gough will be responsible for strengthening the corporate brand, fostering key accounts and directing new growth opportunities. Malcolm joins Natural Paving from Jewson where he spent a number of years as a Marketing Director and Market Director for Sustainability. This experience will be key in developing Natural Paving’s sustainability strategies and policies. Overall, he brings with him 30 years of experience within the building and construction industry, having previously worked for Tarmac and Marshalls.


Alison Lockwood also joins Malcolm’s team and brings with her valuable knowledge and expertise in the commercial, and architectural market place, following a similar role at Woodkirk Stone. With over 10 years experience of the construction industry, Alison has spent her professional career working closely with architects, landscapers, house builders and contractors - having worked on a number of high profile schemes such as Dickins Yard Ealing, Tesco Store Highams Park London.

NICK RUDHAM JOINS STONE FEDERATION TECHNICAL COMMITTEE


Instarmac is pleased to announce that their Ultrascape Brand Manager, Nick Rudham is now a member of the Stone Federation Technical Committee. Ultrascape have been members of the Stone Federation for many years, working closely with and supporting the association. Nick’s appointment will benefit both organisations and associated industries.


Stone Federation is the official trade association for the natural stone industry. The Federation co-ordinates all aspects of the industry and provides specifiers and users with a first point of contact for information, advice and guidance in sourcing an appropriate material and a reliable service.


Nick has a wealth of experience in natural stone and concrete paving, asphalt, aggregates and related


products following a seven year stint working for Aggregate Industries. Now taking control of Instarmac’s mortar paving brand, Ultrascape, he has many suitable resources available that will benefit the Stone Federation including a state of the art laboratory, chemists and technicians.
