MAPEI’S PROTECTIVE WATERPROOFING SYSTEM PROVIDE WATERTIGHT SOLUTION
Quantity surveyor’s inspection revealed that the old ticket office showed signs of water ingress through sections of the ceiling/soffit; with a crack in the soffit running diagonally from side to side and vertically down both walls. With previous attempts to seal the concrete soffit proving unsuccesful a full system of Mapei’s effective and protective waterproofing materails were subsequently specified.
Preservation Treatments carfully opened the crack in the soffit and walls to remove all loose debris. This was then filled with Mapei’s Lamposilex, a fast-setting, hydrau- lic waterproof cement. Mapei’s Mapeband TPE It was applied to the perimeter wall/ floor joints and to the perimeter wall/soffit joints. Mapeband TPE was installed directly on to the concrete substrate using Mapei’s Adesilex PG4.
A system of Mapei’s cementitious waterproofing products has been installed by specialist contractors Preservation Treatments as part of the refurbishment of Raynes Park Station’s old ticket office in Greater London. The original concrete framed structure has been converted into a new retail unit as part of the station’s refurbishment works.

After surface repairs were carried out, Ma- pei’s Mapelastic Foundation, a fully bonded waterproof system was applied using a fully bonded render protection machine. This complete system of Mapei products has created the watertight finish preparing the concrete structure for refurbishment.

REMMERS PROVIDE ANTI-SLIP PROTECTION AT SNOWDOME
Having previously provided flooring solutions for the Snowdome, Remmers were again contacted to provide a flooring system to the newly refurbished ski hire centre.
The client required a seamless, hard wearing non slip surface that was easy to maintain. 600m2 of Remmers Floormix DQ was installed to the wash bays and toilets, locker and changing areas as well as the
open staircase leading in from the main foyer area.
The DQ system was also applied to the insitu coving and full wall height rendering in the wash bay area.
As a tight installation schedule was in place, fast curing resins were used where possible.

The move follows the recent July 1st deadline when the Construction Products Regulations (CPR) came into force, replacing the Construction Products Directive. “The Regulations make it mandatory for manufacturers to add CE marking to all their products and to also make Declarations of Performance available for each one,” comments Recticel Insulations Technical Manager, Peter Wilcox.
“Our products already carried the appropriate markings prior to the change, as we were already CE Marking. We’ve now made the declarations downloadable from our website so that customers can access them at the click of a mouse, or even at the scan of a QR label which has been added to the actual CE Marked product label.”
The declarations provide all the appropriate information on the various insulation products in the Recticel range, including essential product characteristics such as thermal resistance, dimensional tolerances and compressive strength.
