#69 Trevor Seibert
HOMETOWN: Williams Lake, British Columbia BIRTHDATE: March 4, 1967
SPONSORS/MAKE: Lake Excavating / EMCO Waterworks / Castrol – Dodge
NOTABLE: A former open-wheel, road racing champion, Seibert returned to his stock car rac- ing roots when the NASCAR Canadian Tire Se- ries was formed in 2007. Last year, Seibert
appeared in four events, and scored a season-best third place finish on the airport circuit in Edmonton. Racing alongside his son Ryley, Seibert plans to run the opening six races, and after Saskatoon, and depend- ing on success, will decide to either step away in support of Ryley’s effort, or make a concerted effort at the championship.
Richard Coburn
QUOTABLE: “We’ve really stepped up our program, and with the cars now based in Ontario, we’ve been able to take advantage of a lot of new technology that we didn’t have access to before. We’ve spent a lot of time on the cars during the off season, we’ll got a pretty decent package under us for this year.”
#76 Jeff lapcevich
HOMETOWN: Grimsby, Ontario BIRTHDATE: May 8, 1970
SPONSORS/MAKE: Tim Hortons / B&J Electric, Troy Cove Marine / Springer’s Meats / Castrol / Cathcart Trucking – Dodge
NOTABLE: The future of the Lapcevich Racing ef- fort was in question following the death of family patriarch ‘Papa Joe’ Lapcevich in late spring.
However, the team regrouped and as a tribute to his father’s memory, son Jeff will carry Joe’s #76 on the Dodge Challenger this year. Focusing on his philosophy of ‘quality over quantity’ Lapcevich ran just eight events last year, but recorded five top ten finishes, including a season- best fourth on the Speedway of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Richard Coburn
QUOTABLE: “We will still do just a limited schedule, probably just Ontario and Quebec, this year. We have a new McColl-built road course car, and we’ve improved the oval package. Our program is strong everywhere, we have the package to win races this year.”
#84 J.R. Fitzpatrick
HOMETOWN: Ayr, Ontario BIRTHDATE: May 9, 1988
SPONSORS/MAKE: Equipment Express / Cambridge Rigging / Mechanix Wear – Chevrolet
NOTABLE: A perennial threat to win, this former CASCAR cham- pion (2006) claimed four poles,
two wins (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park [RC] and Mon- treal) and nine top five results in 2012, on his way to second place in the final standings. Former Canadian multi-time champion Don Thomson Jr. will return to the pitbox this year, calling the shots as crew chief.
Ryan Dupont
QUOTABLE: “We had a successful year in 2012, but a couple of races bit us. We’re still missing a bit on the ovals, but we’re trying some dif- ferent stuff. We’re looking at this year one race at a time, trying to win every time out and getting that first championship.”
