TeleVIsIon nasCaR CanaDIan TIRe seRIes on Tsn & RDs
The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Pre- sented by Mobil 1 television package for 2013 continues to showcase the country’s top racing series in an exciting and inform- ative way, on several prominent broadcast outlets. The shows are produced by Fuel MediaLab
and NASCAR Productions, and include race coverage, driver interviews and features. All of the shows will be broadcast in HD. For nine of the 12 race broadcasts, the for- mat will be a one-hour show telecast nation- ally on a tape-delayed basis on both TSN (English) and RDS (French). The broadcast of the September 21 season finale from Kawartha Speedway will be a 90-minute, tape-delayed special, on TSN / RDS.
The May 19 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season opener at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was broadcast live, for the first time ever, on CTV, Canada’s most-watched television network for the past 10 years in a row. A sec- ond race – the September 1 event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park – will also air live, on TSN.
The Labour Day weekend broadcast takes place immediately prior to the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the legendary 2.459-mile road course, located an hour northeast of Toronto. The two live broadcasts highlight the series’ 2013 television schedule.
“Kicking off the season live on CTV was a huge opportu- nity to showcase the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and its competitive brand of racing to fans across Canada,” said George Silbermann, NASCAR vice president for touring and weekly series. “This is a tremendous opening to a tele- vision package that brings fans all the action and excitement of Canada’s top motorsports series. The historic broadcast coverage is a direct result of the dedication that our part- ners, Canadian Tire and TSN, have to motorsports in Canada.” Following the conclusion of the 12 race schedule, TSN will air a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Presented by Mobil 1 Season Re- view show on Saturday, November 30. TSN is Canada’s Sports Leader and has
been the television home for Canada’s NASCAR series since its inception in 2007. This year marks the third consecutive season that RDS and RDS2 – the French-language sister stations to TSN – are telecasting all of the races. The French-language telecasts all will be carried by RDS2. The three Quebec events – Circuit ICAR, Autodrome St-Eu- stache and the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières –

will also be shown on RDS. Turning to the broadcast team for the
NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races on TSN, Dave Bradley will handle the play-by-play du- ties with Billy Rowse Jr., while Adam Ross will provide colour analysis. They will be joined by pit reporters Todd Lewis and Spencer Lewis. TSN’s Vic Rauter joins the team for the live telecasts. Didier Schraenen and Eric Descarries will call the action for RDS. In addition to their NASCAR Canadian Tire Series coverage, TSN and RDS are the official broadcasters of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
