NascaR caNadiaN tiRe seRies officials aleX NaGY – seRies diRectoR
Alex Nagy is in his first season with NASCAR after being announced as series director during the off season. Nagy, originally from Brantford, Ontario,
brings a wealth of motorsports experience from both the technical and business aspects of the sport. Most recently he served as spotter and driver coach for Alex Tagliani in the IZOD IndyCar Series.
He also served as crew chief for Tagliani’s ef- forts in the Canadian Tire Series including a 2008 victory in Edmonton, Alberta. Over six seasons, he also led efforts for Steve Mathews, Pete Shep- herd III, Ron Van Es and Jacques Villeneuve in the Canadian stock car touring series. Nagy succeeds Brad Moran, who was ap- pointed as NASCAR Touring Series director in December 2012. Moran held the post for the previous four seasons.
After beginning his racing career as a driver in CASCAR – the precursor to the Canadian Tire Se- ries – Nagy worked his way into the business side of the sport as a CASCAR team owner and by managing some race specialty shops in Ontario. He also served as the track manager and pro- moter for Twin Fountains Raceway, a karting and Legends Car complex in Shelbyville, Tennessee. He was also involved in launching the first Leg- ends Car and Pro Challenge series in Ontario. Nagy lives in Brantford, Ontario with his wife, Sandi, and their two children.
tReVoR HaMblY – Race diRectoR
Trevor Hambly joined NASCAR in 2007 as race director for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Prior to joining NASCAR, Hambly spent nine sea- sons with CASCAR as race director (2006), tech- nical director (2004-05) and inspector (1998-2003). He also spent seven years as a CASCAR crew chief for racers Rob Neely (1990- 95) and Robin Buck (1996). A native of Toronto, Hambly resides in Rock- wood, Ontario with his wife, Christine, and their three children.
jeff wilcoX – tecHNical diRectoR
Jeff Wilcox joined NASCAR in 2010 as techni- cal director for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. Prior to that, Wilcox spent six seasons as the race director at Delaware (ON) Speedway. He also spent several years with Whitlock Motorsports where he served as crew chief for both Dave Whitlock and Mark Dilley. Wilcox and Whitlock teamed up to win CASCAR Super Series titles in 1998 and 1999. Wilcox lives in Thedford, Ontario, with his wife, Sharri, and their two daughters.
