dRiveR BioS #47 louis-Philippe (lP) dumoulin
HOMETOWN: Trois-Rivières, Quebec BIRTHDATE: February 21, 1979
SPONSORS/MAKE:
WeatherTech.ca / Bellemare Transport / Dumoulin Compe- tition – Dodge
NOTABLE: As a series sophomore in 2012, Dumoulin scored three top five fin- ishes, including a runner-up result at his
hometown race in Trois-Rivières, on his way to sixth place in the yearend standings. Again this year, the #47 Dodge will be prepared by former champion Scott Steckly, offering a high de- gree of confidence to this sports car racing veteran. For 2013, Dumoulin will have a new McColl-built road course chassis at his disposal.
Greg MacPherson
QUOTABLE: “I think this could be my breakout year. Scott has been a great teacher and we have had some very satisfying testing results. I know we need to win to be in the championship hunt, but I plan to go one lap, one race at a time and keep building on what we’ve accom- plished so far. I know we can reach the podium, now we have to get to the top step.”
#50 Joey McColm
HOMETOWN: Ajax, Ontario BIRTHDATE: February 22, 1986
SPONSORS/MAKE: Espar / Canada’s Best Store Fixtures – Dodge
NOTABLE: In 2012 McColm ap- peared in eight events, a number that he will try to match this year. An eighth place finish on the Delaware
oval was his best result last year, and he believes that he has the team and the equipment to better that accomplish- ment in 2013.
QUOTABLE: “We’ve got a really good road course car and we’ve done a complete refit of the oval machinery. We’ve been a top ten contender everywhere we’ve gone, so I think a top five finish this year is not out of the question.”
#51 Nick Jewell
HOMETOWN: The Pas, Manitoba BIRTHDATE: March 22, 1977
SPONSORS/MAKE: Twin Motors / Prairie Dodge Dealers / Sikkens Paints / 3M / Castrol – Dodge
NOTABLE: Based “a long way from everywhere,” Jewell did just one Canadian Tire Series race in 2012,
earning a ninth place result in Saskatoon. He will race his ex-Scott Steckly Dodge in Vernon and Saskatoon again this year, with his 2013 focus centred on the Dakota Dunes
Perry Nelson Super Late Model championship. Eventually Jewell hopes to shift his racing operations in order to run the full NCATS schedule.
QUOTABLE: “I’m positive that we’re the only pavement racing team from Manitoba, which gives us a unique angle in marketing, but it does limit our out-of-province exposure. We will run the west races this year and I’m fairly confident that we will do well, maybe top ten, at Auto Clearing. I’ve never raced at Vernon, that one will be exciting, hopefully we can bring the car home in one piece.”
