#7 Pete Shepherd iii

HOMETOWN: Brampton, Ontario BIRTHDATE: August 13, 1986

SPONSORS/MAKE: National Ex- haust / Magnum Gaskets / Gates Belts – Dodge

NOTABLE: This former Roush Rac- ing development driver made just three Canadian Tire Series starts in

2012, and in only one race did he finish out of the top five. He claimed the pole position at the Speedway of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and earned the race vic- tory on the 1/3-mile Barrie Speedway. Shepherd’s schedule for this season will see him compete on the four Ontario ovals.

Greg MacPherson

QUOTABLE: “My philosophy has changed a bit. Although I still want to win every race, I’ve now reached the point where I want to have fun driving a race car. Since moving to London, I now consider Delaware Speedway my home track, so I’d especially like to win that race. I’ve had pretty good luck on the other tracks, maybe we can pull off a couple of wins this year.”

#14 James van domselaar

HOMETOWN: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta BIRTHDATE: June 14, 1969

SPONSORS/MAKE: Steel-Craft Door Prod- ucts / Elton Manufacturing – Chevrolet

NOTABLE: Another western Canadian driver who has made at least one start every year since the Canadian Tire Series began, Van Domselaar took part in the

‘western swing’ last season and finished Top 20 in every race. His best result was a 15th at Motoplex Speedway in Vernon. This year he will again do three races, running at Vernon and Saska- toon, before coming east to run the Labour Day road course event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Perry Nelson

QUOTABLE: “This year I will be racing in the memory of my dad. The guys who travel with me have been a part of this group for 15 years, we all have fun together, and that is our goal, to have fun, in 2013. And if we can bring the car home in one piece after each race, that wouldn’t hurt, either.”

#15 Steven Mathews

HOMETOWN: New Liskeard, Ontario BIRTHDATE: August 27, 1990

SPONSORS/MAKE: Bill Mathews Mo- tors / Jack Mathews Body Shop / MIR Racewear – Ford

NOTABLE: Recognized as one of the fastest ‘part-timers’ on the tour, in 2012 Mathews appeared in just six events,

and qualified on the front row each time the #15 Ford ran on an oval. Mathews earned one pole position at Barrie Speedway which translated into a season-best fourth place race result. He is currently planning on just racing a partial schedule this year, possibly “six or seven” races.

Steven Mathews

QUOTABLE: “This year, again, we’ll be chasing wins, not the championship. We’ve got the same proven equipment, although we’ve up- dated the bodywork, so we know our cars are strong. Hopefully everything is in order for us to make some noise this year. I know the car, the setup and the tracks, so we just need to build on what we’ve accomplished so far.”
