Olsson said: “Kath’s reasoning was we needed to educate the adults first to pass on vital messages to pre-school children. We included the Red and Green Puffin Men so that correct messages could be relayed for pedestrian crossings usage and they were a huge hit when piloted in the Ammanford area.” The result is a bright and colourful A3 flip-over
landscape story book which has spawned many more ideas to reinforce the story’s messages. Books have

been produced for parents and carers so that the important road safety messages can be reinforced in a home setting. The Language and Play programme is flexible and

Chicken Shed crows at Ffwrnes ACTION speaks louder than words at
Carmarthenshire’s new performing arts and social enterprise centre- Ffwrnes Llanelli. Chicken Shed is the leading integrated theatre
company in the UK and is a standard bearer for all who work in this field. The experienced Chicken Shed team worked with an integrated group of young people from Ysgol Heol Goffa, Y Strade, Tregib and Glan yr Môr at Ffwrnes devising a 40-minute live theatre production to nearly 200 members of the public, parents and peers. Heol Goffa teacher Bridget Radford said the result
was inspirational and emotional. “This could never had happened the way it did without the Ffwrnes,” she said. “It was wonderful to see young people of different backgrounds, ages and abilities working together as one creative team. It has certainly inspired Heol Goffa staff and pupils to new heights”. Paul Morrall of Chicken Shed said: “Chicken Shed
will be back at the Ffwrnes next year and we will raise the bar even higher.”
