Another successful year of barrel rac- ing has come and gone for the Ontario Bar- rel Racing Association and we are eagerly counting down the days until our 4 legged athletes will be running full speed down the alley way again. This new executive has lots of exciting ideas that they are working on. Members can look forward to the new Rule Book coming out in the month of March. There is talk of a new “Invita- tional Run” for top riders to qualify for throughout the season.

There is a great “Rookie Mentorship Program” that includes 2 free mentor lessons with a first year Rookie Membership. Inter- ested newcomers are encouraged to contact our Rookie Director Bonita Longfield and take advantage of 2 free lessons/mentor ses- sions to prepare you for all you need to know to get you in the chute and on the pattern for the 2013 OBRA Rookie season. This year looks to be yet again another exciting full packed season of barrel racing fun. As the snow melts and the temperatures rise foals are beginning to hit the ground and 2013 futurity horses look promising for many Ontario competitors. It’s time to fit those hors- es up and bring the best of what you got, see you all in the arena!
