Tip Number Three: Get In Shape As we get older, whether we want


to admit it or not, the body doesn’t always react quite as quickly to those activities we took for granted when we were younger. It’s a lot easier to put your boat in the water, carry that trolling motor, paddle your way around the lake, or track and pull a deer out of the bush if you are physically capable. I’m not suggesting that you be


able to run a 42K marathon. What I do suggest though, is that you be able to swim with a PFD on and be comfortable after walking at least a few kilometers in the bush. It doesn’t take much exercise to meet these physical demands. At my age, which will remain a secret, I can easily do these activities even though my doctor constantly reminds me I am a couple of pounds overweight. As a precaution, I would recommend you have a regular checkup by your local physician, just to be on the safe side.


Tip Number Four: Buy Some Cheap Reading Glasses For those of you in the 40-years-


old group and over, have you ever noticed that physically it is usually the eyes that are the first things to go? (I don’t even want to talk about the symptoms associated with 50 years and over!) As anglers, there’s nothing more


frustrating than sitting in the boat after your line breaks, and having to squint your eyes to bring them into
