The Bovey Tracey Players

THE Bovey Tracey Players are a thriving drama group of around 50 members. They aim to produce around three shows a year. As an active drama group they require a range of skills and interests as well as directing, acting and singing. These include set building; make up, costume, lighting and sound as well as front of house duties. Musicians are always welcome.

A wide variety of full length and one act plays have been produced over the years and these have included comedy, farce and drama and on occasions, the premiere of new writings by members. A pantomime is produced

every other year alternating with a Nativity Play in the local parish church. Both types of production have proved popular with local audiences.

The Players have also performed street theatre, cabarets and last year, a large number of members were also involved in a very successful ‘1950s Radio Show’ presented in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Players also enjoy a variety of social events which helps to raise funds for their nominated charity each year.
