TWLV GAMING LTD is a new company with a new game idea offering an online gaming network via its site twlv.com where people from around the world can play together and win together. TWLV is a game of chance and when you buy a ticket this is then valid for 12 consecutive monthly bingo game events. Each ticket then allows you to invite 12 friends to play with you. They can then invite friends and players then receive bonuses. It has been called the new type of social network game and the online bingo site was launched in January this year.


Recently TWLV launched a unique Influencer reward program which allows the ‘Influencers’ to capitalise on their status. With TWLV players can independently create a continuous flow of income by informing their followers about TWLV via their comments and opinions about the game. They also receive a unique link for their tweets, blogs or social media posts which tags the referred player to them earning them a share of future revenue and winnings.


The aim is to generate players from all kinds of target groups and spreading the game to a wider audience. TWLV received its licence in the IOM in December 2011.


VELOCITY WAGERING LTD received its IOM licence in October 2011


VIADEN GAMING LTD is an online gaming software vendor offering gaming solutions from development through to delivery and maintenance via its sites including viaden.com, bigcasino.co.uk, casinover.co.uk and casinomagic.co.uk. Viaden has designed online casino and poker solutions and is a company based in Belarus. Its partners include Openbet and Cayetano Technologies and the company recently launched the new 2.9 online casino software featuring integration with Playtech gaming platform. The IOM licence was issued in January 2011.

VUETEC (IOM) LTD develops and supports software solutions and associated hardware for real casinos and online casinos and provides customers with Distance Gaming which enables patrons to participate directly in games being played in a real casino using their home PC. Websites which use this solution include dublinbet.com, 1spin.com, dionbet.com, helleniclivecasino.com, rubymooncasino.com, luckylivecasino.com, 8blackclub.com, 1livecasino.com and casinoalmighty.com. Vuetec was granted the IOM licence in February 2009.


WEBIS HOLDINGS PLC is a holding company with subsidiaries operating in the gaming and technology sectors. The company has two separate operations – betinternet.com which is a fully featured sportsbook portal with fixed odds betting on all major global sports and European Wagering Services which owns a totalisator hub located on the IOM which passes wagers directly into global racetrack betting pools in real time. This is operated through link2bet.com as well as a telephone call centre. The company holds betting licences in the IOM and the Netherlands. Betinternet.com was incorporated into the IOM in 1998 and the website was launched in 2000. In 2007 the company changed its name from betinternet.com plc to Webis Holdings Plc and also operates fcbetzc.com and link2bet.com.


WELTON HOLDINGS LTD operates fun88.com which is an online gambling and entertainment company providing sports betting and casino gaming via its Philippines licence. It received the IOM licence in 2009.


XELA LTD began in 2000 as Xela Technologies Ltd and grew as a technology provider to business. They supply bespoke web application development including hosting provider, domain registration service and application development.


GROWTH OF GAMBLING Last year the IOM online gaming sector was responsible for pumping £165m into the local economy and contributed over £15m in taxes in 2010. The online gaming industry in the Isle of Man has tripled in size since 2006 and is expected to nearly double this year. The industry employs around 700 people.


Despite the global economic downturn the Isle of Man’s economy has seen more than a quarter of a century of continuous expansion and unbroken growth. The economy in 2010 grew by 2.1 per cent in real terms and the unemployment rate was running at about 2.1 per cent.

The Isle of Man signed its first Tax Information Exchange Agreement with the USA in 2002 and now has agreements with 20 countries. The country also has double taxation agreements with 14 countries.


The gaming industry is governed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC) which was founded back in 1962 whilst the Department of Economic Development is authorised to manage and support internet gambling business issues on the Isle of Man.


The GSC is an independent body made up of a Director, a Policy Office, five gaming inspectors and two secretaries. The Commission approves and grants licences for online gaming operators, land based casinos, betting and slots.
