News INTERNATIONAL UPDATE

FUTURELOGIC HAS SIGNED A DEAL TO extend its Global Technology Agreement with International Game Technology. According to the agreement, FutureLogic’s peripherals will continue to be the preferred printers in IGT’s current gaming platforms. With operator demand increasing, IGT will be transitioning to the GEN3 Evolution printer in 2013. The GEN3 Evolution printer has the industry’s largest standard paper capacity, 450 tickets. This will save operators up to 30 refills or $300 per printer annually.

Further reducing costs, FutureLogic printers eliminate paper waste by consuming the ticket stack down to the last ticket. Moreover, the GEN3 Evolution® printer is also the fastest printer in gaming, printing and presenting a ticket/coupon in less than one second. Designed with promotional couponing in mind, the GEN3 Evolution® printer will provide operators with separate and secure processing environments for both TITO and promotional couponing and precision grayscale printing through advanced temperature control technology, yielding the highest resolution output for printing eye-catching promotional coupons.

“We chose to extend our global agreement with FutureLogic because of their outstanding printer performance and reliability, which allow IGT to focus on our customer needs in innovative ways, while delivering new levels of efficiency to casino floors.” said John Chamberlain, IGT Director of Platform Product Management. “Over time, strong relationships have been established between our companies, and we look forward to our continued partnership with FutureLogic.”

Entertainment Gaming Asia Cambodia expansion

US gaming company, Entertainment Gaming Asia, is set to open its second casino in Cambodia this month. The company, which is backed by Macau-based Melco International and is listed on New York’s NASDAQ stock exchange also revealed that its revenues had grown to more than US$20m in 2012.

Entertainment Gaming Asia, formally Elixir Gaming, secured two additional casino projects in Cambodia in addition to its Dreamworld Casino in Pailin province which opened in May, 2012. The additional licences are located near the border with Vietnam in the provinces of Kampot and Takeo. The Dreamworld Casino provides electronic gambling machines to Phnom Penh’s NagaWorld Casino and Thansur Bokor, the casino-hotel resort opened last year in the Kampot province by the Sokimex Corporation. EGA also has a smaller operation in the Philippines.

According to EGA, the company’s second Cam bodian casino, in the border town of Poipet in Banteay Mean chey province, is currently under construction, but is expected to be open for business in April. This $7.5m project, which is being constructed as a stand-alone extension to an existing casino owned by a local Cambodian company, opens with approximately 300 EGMs.

EGA’s Dreamworld Pailin casino opened its doors in May 2012, and contributed $1.8m to the company’s revenue in the year. Most of that revenue, $1.3m, came in the last three months of the year, as EGA upped its marketing efforts for the casino to draw in more players. However, volatility remains as the company continues to refine its marketing programs. EGA expects to establish normalised operating results for Dreamworld Pailin with the next one or two quarters.

SG Gaming agree

Gala Coral deal SG Gaming, the recently formed division of Scientific Games Corporation, has announced an agreement with Gala Coral to bring its popular games to Gala Coral’s online players. The agreement builds on the strong relationship that already exists between SG Gaming and Gala Coral in the land-based sector. Adding an interactive element will enable the two groups to work even more closely together to provide players with multiple ways to access innovative content across a range of channels. SG Gaming’s Interactive division has been steadily expanding its online offer and the deal with Gala Coral will enable even more players to engage with its innovative content. SG Gaming’s content will be deployed on the GTS Edge platform with Rainbow Riches and Ca$hino as the first games available, with a roll-out of additional content planned.
