CARMARTHENSHIRE NEWS • EDITION 12 MARCH - APRIL 2013 The Rowan Organisation
Supporting Independence Through Choice

Are you able to provide short term cover to a carer/personal assistant who is on annual leave? Or are you able to help out at short notice if a carer/personal assistant phones in sick?
Under the Direct Payments scheme, employers arrange their own care provision funded by Carmarthenshire Social Services. This means that when their employees are absent from their posts for periods of annual leave or sick leave the employers try to have people they can contact with the understanding that the temporary vacancy can be equally accepted or declined when it is offered.
If you have some spare time and don’t want to be committed long term to permanent work, then being a Relief Personal Assistant may be ideal for you.
If you are interested, please email us on
3WC.PARegister@
therowan.org to provide your details and we can include you on our list of names of people willing to be contacted at short notice.
Alternatively, you can look out for Relief Personal Assistant posts on
http://www.therowan.org/pacarmarthenshire.
As well as relief posts, there are also many permanent posts for carers, companions and personal assistants. You can apply online where full job descriptions, person specifications and applications forms can be found.
Please note: The Rowan Organisation would not be your employer; we are a support organisation to people who are employers under the Direct Payments scheme (A Welsh Government and local authority initiative first established in 1997)
