BABIES are being encouraged to sing (not sink) and swim to boost their water confidence at Carmarthenshire Leisure Centre. Mum Becca Dawson with her baby daughter Talulah

said it was a gurgling delight that her daughter looked forward to enormously each week. “She has no fear of water at all and whoops with excitement whenever we go to the pool.” The aquatic spring programme has water baby

sessions, adult lessons, swim and aqua fit sessions to suit all from three months to 90-year-olds. Carmarthenshire council quality development co-

ordinator David James said it was all about getting people more active more often whatever their age. He

said: “From swimming to squash there is something for everyone. The water baby sessions at Carmarthen Leisure Centre give parent and babies and children an opportunity to play and sing under supervision in the water improving water confidence and water safety. The adult sessions help to develop and improve swimming technique and fitness.” And there is a lot more at the leisure centre besides.

The junior programme includes soccer tots, mini and junior football; mini and junior hockey, badminton and squash for beginners and improvers. For more information telephone your leisure centre or e-mail leisure@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
