THE University of Wales Trinity Saint David has
launched
Internships within its Institute of Sustainable Practice, Innovation and Resource Effectiveness (INSPIRE). Jane Davidson, Director of INSPIRE and former Environment &
Sustainability Minister, introduced the opportunities at the University’s Sustainability Exchange. Nine internships will focus on
three areas of activity- Green Impact, Fair Trade and the Sustainability Exchange - and are available to students at Trinity Saint

TEN building projects ranging from one bed flats in a former Llanelli brewery office block to a clinical decision unit at West Wales General Hospital have been recognised at Carmarthenshire’s 2013 Local Authority Building Control Excellence Awards ceremony. Director of regeneration Dave Gilbert said: “We are achieving great quality of build
in new projects across the county that is the envy of many. and which have in recent years attracted national acclaim.”

Best Education Building- Construction of the new small animals teaching block at Coleg Sir Gar, Pibwrlwyd Campus, Carmarthen Best Small Commercial Project (up to £5-million), and Best Sustainable Project: Construction of new offices, The Quay, Carmarthen.
Best Partnership, Works carried out at West Wales General Hospital and Prince Phillip, Llanelli: The new Clinical decisions Unit and Glangwili.
