www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk Journey to the Cafe at Number Four

Andrew Luck began his journey to the Cafe at Number Four 12 years ago when he moved from his home town Carmarthen to London to begin to build his skills as a chef.

He worked alongside highly prestigious professionals at Claridges and Automat brasserie in Mayfair. His love for food grew and he was inspired to bring his creations back home.

Now, Andrew has opened the doors to the Cafe at Number Four in Queens Street, Carmarthen, and says: “I brought the idea to life of a modern twist to the traditional cafe.”

Dewis Menter business development officer Lesley Lewis is assisting Andrew in developing his cafe with the aim of offering the people

of Carmarthen and surrounding areas excellent food in a relaxed contemporary atmosphere.

The Cafe at Number Four serves breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Saturday 9-5pm, Afternoon Tea 2pm-5pm

and a Three Course Set Evening Dinner Thursday to Saturday, encouraging guests to bring their favourite bottle for them to enjoy with their meal.

New pest control business

Neil Harris from St Clears has recently started Vermagon, a pest control business for the control and prevention of rats and mice, flies and insects, moles, birds, squirrels, foxes and rabbits.

From a young age Neil has been dealing with pests on friends and family farms, and on his own property which has a variety of different animals and buildings.

He said: "Pests can do a lot of damage to property from gnawing holes in walls, to gnawing through cables causing fires. Pests can also cause significant

losses to feed and spread diseases."

The business covers domestic, commercial and agricultural services, from one-off call outs to long term contracts.

"It was daunting starting

a business and going into the unknown, but with the help of Barry Hale from Dewis Menter, it has made the whole process easier.”
