TWELVE secondary schools took part in a construction-related competition at Coleg Sir Gâr’s Ammanford campus which saw two pupils qualify to compete at a Skills Competition Wales regional final. Competitors from a range of throughout

Carmarthenshire took part, where year 11 pupils used their skills in measurement, carpentry and tiling. The competition forms part of the


activities of an award-winning initiative called Constructing Carmarthenshire Together- a collaboration between Coleg Sir Gâr, Carmarthenshire County Council and Carmarthenshire Construction Training Association Ltd (CCTAL). Winning joint first-place position

Sports massage


PUBLIC sessions in sports and remedial massage are being offered at Coleg Sir Gâr’s Llanelli campus on Thursday afternoons. Clients undergo a postural and


physical assessment and are then treated with a variety of deep tissue massage techniques. These include soft tissue release and muscle energy techniques which can help correct muscular and postural problems. This kind of massage can provide an effective treatment for sciatica, frozen shoulder and many other long term muscular problems. The cost is £10 for 60 minutes.
