Moving On Up
Based in Clarksville, Tenn., Sonus Car Audio is just a half-mile from the store’s previous location, which was in a leased building. According to Williams, the new shop is on a high-traffic connector road between Clarksville and the Fort Campbell military base. The store has 1,300 square feet up front with 6,600 square
feet in the back. There are four functional bays numbered Bay 1, Bay 2, Bay 3 and Bay 4. The area includes a fabrication facili- ty, welding area, and an interior trim room. When Williams opened the first store, he worked with what he could find in the area. “We did what everybody else did — we found a spot, had
them cut a hole for a garage door, and we went to work,” he said. “We outgrew it really fast, but were lucky enough that, in December of 2011, we were able to start construction on our own building. We designed it from the ground up to be exactly what we wanted it to be.”

If we’re going to change something or move something, or something doesn’t work the way we want it to, everyone knows to go through Nick — not me — to make sure that the client is aware of it and that we’re not going to hit any snags.” Also on staff is Ray West, installation director/special
projects, who has more than 14 years of experience in design, fabrication, installation, and consulting. West, nationally rec- ognized by Mobile Electronics magazine as a Top 12 Installer in 2012, also added the MECP Advanced Certification to his credentials. Sonus installers include Jason Carlisle and William Jenkins.
Jeff Siefman handles installs and window treatments. But ev- eryone is cross-trained, noted Williams. That was a huge focus last fall. “Everyone here has been to MERA and had the Del El-
