RE Audio

The Big Intros: RE Audio introduced a new division focused on vehicle-specific subwoofer enclosures under the 256 Motoring brand. Current models include applications for the 2012 Scion FR-S and several BMW Mercedes models. The plan is to eventually build to 500 SKUs, with amplified enclosures on the horizon.

The Big Picture: “We build 26 models of our woofers in house, and we want to build all of them here in the U.S., at a competitive price point,” said Craig Smith, marketing manager. To accommodate this, the company recently doubled its space in the City of Industry, Calif.

Boss Audio Te Planet Audio PIDB360 is the company’s second version of a head unit that allows an iPhone to snap in and be- come the source. A $599 MSRP navigation receiver, the PNV9620i, will ship in March. Te Boss brand brings new single- and double-DIN nav units as well, along with the 9310dbi, which caters to the iPhone 5 with a motorized recessing face.
