… Showing Off Best Wave Display Software bestwave.com

Best Wave’s Display It! software allows a retailer to set up and con- trol any amount of displays with up to 125 individual media elements and schedules. In a basic setup that involves one media stream with one or more displays, the compa- ny recommends two computers to be used: one small form-factor PC serving as the media player that can mount near or behind a

display (Best Wave recommends several models on its Website), and a standard PC to function as the controller. The software lets users upload PowerPoint files, still im- ages, videos, Web pages and more and schedule the media to play by the day or hour, up to two years in advance. Once the schedule is set, the information is transmitted to the media player PC via the store’s internal wired or wireless network, and that’s it. The controller PC can be turned off for other duties. Setting up multiple displays requires a signal splitter (not included) to connect to the media PC and route the signal to multiple displays or use commercial displays which, in most cases, are equipped with connectors that allow dai- sy-chaining. The software has an MSRP of $599 from the manufacturer, but several resellers offer it in the $450 range.
