The Big Intros: Scosche continues to add to its HD line with a new 5-channel amplifier and 10-inch subwoofer. Also new was a non-steering wheel control version of the S3-1 interface, new European vehicle interfaces and the ability to match dash grain patterns on installation kits.
The Big Picture: Scosche is still dedicated to the mobile elec- tronics industry, and the company wants to make sure everyone know it. While iPhone accessories are still on the radar, they are sharing a significant part of the spotlight with both and the company’s root product: kits and harnesses.
Bazooka Gene Hitchcock showed the company’s Tub- bies, which are loaded fiberglass enclosures made for marine use. Available with or without LED lighting, they come with 5.25-inch or 6.5-inch drivers and mount on 360-degree clamps, among other features.
Absoute Te company brought out its in-dash big- screen solution in the AVH-11ABT, which includes a detachable 11-inch touch screen. Also, Absolute added to its line of cameras for RV applications and debuted its Blast series of amplifiers.
American Bass Te brand best known for enthusiast com- petition added an 8-inch driver to its VFL subwoofer line. It features a 2.5-inch voice coil and 100 oz. magnet and is rated at 400 watts RMS. “Our plan is to build in the U.S. this year,” said Lucas Mikulcic, technician. “We’ll be able to source better components and ensure that our quality stays at its highest.”

Rockford Fosgate Rockford made noise with the intro- duction of new Punch amplifiers for 2013, which will help power 15 Mini SoundLabs that will traverse the country. Also on display were new Lightning Audio speakers subwoof- ers and source units.
Clarion
Clarion has a busy CES with a dozen new marine products, new subwoof- er line and Class D amplifier. But the company’s Smart Access receiver stole the show with its announce- ment, as well as the availability of Waze and iHeart Radio.
