interiors Remmers wins FeRFA Award
Remmers has been awarded the FeRFA Large Project of the Year Award for the 600m² bespoke resin floor in the new purpose built, state of the art Audi car centre in Leicester. This project involved the installa- tion of a unique vertical design with just one construc- tion joint sweeping into the main showroom floor area. Specially coated aggregates to exact granule sizing
and colour were applied and installed by Phoenix Specialist Flooring Contractors, to produce a decorative and contemporary resin finish. Steel trims were sourced and powder coated to the exact same colour as the resin floor to hide any transitions giving the floor and wall the appearance of one sweeping finish.

Beko, one of the UK’s leading appliance manufacturers, is supporting The Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport, Hampshire, with a charitable donation to its ‘Saving HMS Alliance Appeal’ – the largest by a con- sumer brand to date. The Alliance Appeal is a fundraising drive to raise enough money to Save HMS Alliance, the Second World War era submarine that is the memorial to 5,300 British submariners who lost their lives in the
service. Her current position berthed above the waterline of Portsmouth Harbour has caused serious corrosion to the 67 year old vessel and has the left the submarine in need of conservation costing almost £7 million.

www.beko.co.uk enq.233 Caberdek offers a floor for all seasons
Used as part of a timber frame system or within traditional masonry construction, suspended timber floors remain the preferred option for first storey and above among most volume house- builders. The most commonly used decking material for these floors is a system of tongue-
and-groove particleboard panels of which Norbord’s Caberdek is one of the UK’s leading brands. Made from moisture-resistant P5 grade particleboard, Caberdek has a tough non-slip plastic coating on its upper surface to protect the board from damage or dirt resulting from following trades, such as plastering. The protective film is also capable of protecting boards, which are exposed to the elements up to 42 days following installation.

Slip resistant Crossgrip matting is being used extensively along the production line at the Jaguar Landover plant in Halewood, Liverpool. The matting, manufactured in the UK by Plastic Extruders Ltd, has been laid along both sides of the car assembly line to provide a slip resistant and anti-fatigue
solution. Crossgrip was chosen because of its previous high performance record in other areas of the plant. Traditionally, the matting is used in demanding envi- ronments and extreme external conditions, such as on rooftop walkways and along gantries. Its flexible PVC construction means that it will contour over uneven surfaces, ramps and changes in level while remaining firm and in place. enq.234
