www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk Community Challenge
TWITTER and Facebook users are being urged to follow Carmarthenshire Community Challenge for all the latest campaign news and updates. Users are also being asked to post their sustainable ideas on both social networking sites. The 12-month challenge, supported by the Llanelli Star and the Carmarthen
Journal, encourages communities to shrink their carbon footprint, reduce impact on the planet and improve the place they live. Since its launch in October, the campaign has inspired many people across the county into action and groups have developed their own pioneering ways to protect the environment and save resources. If you are already taking action and haven’t told us then we want to know.
The ideas that have made the biggest impact will receive an award to recognise achievement. To sign up online, visit our website at

A scheme to help Carmarthenshire mums give their views on maternity services has been shortlisted for a national award. The ‘Did We Deliver’ postcard is given to all mums discharged from Glangwili Maternity Unit to give them the
chance to help improve the service. This scheme has now been short listed for the Mothercare Award for Excellence in Maternity Care at the RCM annual Midwifery Awards 2013. The maternity unit has a notice board ‘You said - We did’ which displays the monthly report from the feedback and shows any changes to the service that have occurred a result of the comments received.
