Have your say on county flood risk survey

RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on the council’s Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS). The strategy aims to reduce the consequences from flooding and coastal

erosion in Carmarthenshire, as well as raise awareness, provide an effective response and prioritise investment in the most at risk communities. It must be submitted to Welsh Government by the end of January. To have your say, please visit www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk

New rural response vehicle

Ammanford Fire Station has recently received a new fire appliance specifically designed to deal with emergency incidents within some of the more rural areas within Carmarthenshire. Group Manager Rob Quin, Head of

Carmarthenshire Command said: “We are absolutely delighted to have a Rural Response Pump at Ammanford. This new vehicle will be able to get to places that traditional fire appliances have previously been unable to reach due to their size. The Rural Response Pumps are smaller vehicles, able to travel over rough terrain and through narrow roads and lanes whilst maintaining the ability to effectively deal with property fires and traffic collisions”. The new vehicle will greatly benefit the people of Carmarthenshire through

enabling fire fighters and their equipment to access farms and remote locations that were previously difficult or in some cases, impossible to reach.
