“I loved sleeping out in the white desert; me and my sleeping bag, underneath the stars, watching the Milky Way pass over. It’s something that will always stay with me, simply magical.”

Khnum. Nubian culture is strong here and the locals are very welcoming as you wander through their villages. Activities: day trip to Abu Simbel temples, Nile cruise to Luxor
The Nile The vast waters of the Nile pump through the heart of Egypt and some of the world’s oldest civilisations thrive today along its banks. Nile cruises are popular as the pace is relaxed, the scenery is beautiful and you can visit the sites of historical interest along the way. A traditional felucca sailboat offers a more intimate journey, with the chance to sleep under the stars on the open deck. Activities: river cruises, village visits
Red Sea The Red Sea’s coastline stretches for miles and is famous for the beauty and biodiversity of its coral reefs. The crystalline waters of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada sparkle with the promise of unrivalled diving opportunities. Located at the foot of the Sinai Mountains, Dahab has emerged from a Bedouin village to a laid-back tourist resort. Boasting golden beaches, this coastal area is known for its excellent dive and snorkel sites. Activities: swimming, snorkelling, diving
Western Desert The Western Desert is the gateway to remote lands that time forgot and is best discovered by four-wheel drive. The ancient caravan route of Darb Siwa traverses this vast landscape, passing lush oases of green nurtured by Bedouin tribes over the centuries. For an authentic taste of the vast nothingness, you can camp under the open skies among the surreal rock formations of the White Desert. Activities: four-wheel drive safaris, camel rides, camping under the desert stars
