Africa \ Zambia & Malawi Inside information

Getting There British Airways flies direct to Lusaka. Overnight flights usually take about 10 hours.

Best Time to Visit Zambia’s dry season is between May and October. Temperatures reach around 29°C during the day. Early dry season is the most pleasant time to travel and the best for bird-watching. For game-viewing, late dry season is better as water is harder for the animals to find, although it is very hot.

Combine it with... Zambia and Malawi fit perfectly as unique and adventurous safari destinations. South Luangwa National Park, a wildlife-rich reserve, combines well with the relaxation and activities on the famous shores of Lake Malawi.

Lower Zambezi The Lower Zambezi National Park covers an area of 4092 sq km, and contains the Zambezi River. The big attractions of a safari here are the water- based activities. A canoeing adventure scouting for wildlife is a must, and provides a great opportunity for photography. Elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards and buffalos all live here, and bird-watching is good, too. Activities: canoeing, fishing

Kafue National Park Kafue is Zambia’s largest national park, covering 22500 sq km. It is home to a wide diversity of wildlife and provides a fantastic game-viewing experience. Kafue is little-visited, which oſten means you have the wildlife to yourself. The northern area of Busanga is renowned for its lion population and profusion of wildlife, which makes it a recommended safari destination. Activities: walking safaris, game viewing, birding

Lake Malawi, Malawi Lake Malawi is an inland sea; it’s the third largest lake in Africa, covering an area of 11400 sq km. It boasts a stunning setting and is rich in wildlife, with crocodiles and hippos in abundance. It also has more fish species than any other lake on earth, including the colourful, tropical cichlid species. During your time here you can enjoy lots of different activities, or simply relax. Activities: sailing, kayaking, snorkelling, boat trips
