Kanchanaburi Kanchanaburi is the site of the famous Bridge over the River Kwai and the Death Railway, built in 1943 by thousands of Allied prisoners of war. In contrast to its brutal history, Kanchanaburi is blessed with abundant natural beauty, including the mighty Erawan waterfall and the deep Lawa and Kra Sae caves, which have enormous stalagmites and stalactites. Chiang Rai Chiang Rai is the most northerly province of Thailand, bordering Burma and Laos at the infamous Golden Triangle. Chiang Rai is known as the “Crown of the North” - a relaxed base from which to visit some of the nearby hilltribe villages and appreciate the unique scenery of this mountainous region. Krabi and the Southern Islands Krabi has pristine white sand beaches and towering, limestone outcrops that rise out of bright, turquoise waters. Day 1 Overnight flight to Bangkok. Day 2 Relax and explore the city. Day 3 Tour Bangkok’s canals by long-tail boat, visiting the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Day 4 Spend the morning in Bangkok and then take the overnight train to Surat Thani. Day 5 Walk and take an elephant ride in Khao Sok National Park. Day 6 Take a boat across tranquil Cheow Lan Lake and explore nearby caves by sea kayak. Days 7 & 8 Continue to Krabi. Relax on the beach and enjoy seafood BBQs. Day 9 Discover the sea and islands around Krabi by sea kayak. Day 10 Fly back to Bangkok for an aſternoon to explore the city. Days 11 & 12 Fly to the UK.
