Kilimanjaro Trek Sample Itinerary:
One to get you started...
Days 1 & 2 Fly to Kilimanjaro and travel to Moshi to relax before the climb. Day 3 Trek through unspoilt rainforest to Big Tree Forest Camp at 2780 m. Day 4 Full day walk across the Shira Plateau, with views of Kibo Peak in the distance. Day 5 Cross moorland to the broad upland desert and Moir Hut at 4175 m. Day 6 Walk along gentle lava ridges beneath glaciers to Lava Tower. Acclimatisation trek to Arrow Glacier. Day 7 Climb the Barranco Wall for views of Mount Meru. Sleep at Karanga Camp.
Day 8 Trek to Barafu Camp and rest for tomorrow’s summit attempt. Day 9 Leave camp at midnight to reach Uhuru Peak at 5895 m as the sun rises. Decend to Millenium Camp. Day 10 Descend to Mweka Gate and take a well- earned rest. Days 11 & 12 Fly to the UK.
