SERVICE PENSIONS


We asked a number of questions on Service pensions, as we were keen to gather current thinking on the existing scheme and possible future changes (Figures 15 and 16). It should be noted that this survey was completed before the announcements of proposals for the Future Armed Forces Pension Scheme. At the time, there was a genuine concern that personnel might be asked to make a financial contribution towards their future pension, which would be in addition to any existing arrangements ie. the abatement to their salary.
