LL over the city, tenants have been celebrating their communities. From gala days to family events, people have come together to take pride in their neighbourhoods.
In Penilee, the local gala day raised hundreds of pounds for a good cause.
Months of hard work by GHA staff and local residents in Cardonald led to the creation of a community garden in Craigton.
Some of our older tenants in Partick celebrated the diamond anniversary of their distinctive block of fl ats, Crathie Court.
And in Govan, residents got together to mark the end of GHA’s improvement work – as well as the rich and colourful history of the area itself.
GHA Chair Gordon Sloan said: “We want to help communities thrive and people to take pride in where they live.
“It’s great to see this in action. GHA has improved homes and neighbourhoods all over Glasgow – and it’s great to see communities coming together to celebrate their own areas.”

Govan Riverside gets behind the Big Launch
TENANTS in Govan Riverside celebrated the transformation of their community. The Big Launch, a family fun day
marking the end of two years’ worth of improvements carried out by GHA in the Riverside area of Govan, took place last month. The event featured the offi cial opening of Harland Way – a new
walkway named by local young people in a reference to former Govan shipyard, Harland and Wolff, the unveiling of 15 new sculptures and the opening of a new play park.
Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who is the MSP for the area, also attended the big day.
Crathie Court sparkles at 60
RESIDENTS at one of Glasgow’s hidden architectural gems celebrated the diamond anniversary of their homes. Around 30 tenants of Crathie Court in the West End gathered to mark the 60th anniversary of the historic fl ats.

The unusual art deco block was designed after the Second World War as an experiment by Glasgow Corporation in high-rise living. The 88 studio fl ats, which today house mainly older people, recently had £2.6 million of work carried out by GHA.
