Welcome to the August issue of the Key. The UK Government is bringing in important changes to the welfare benefi t system. These changes will have a big impact on so many people – and we’re here to help. Read how these reforms might affect you on pages 4-5. Anyone from a GHA home going to college or university can apply for one of our Better Future bursaries. We have grants of up to £1,500 available, which can be a lifeline for students in these diffi cult times. Glasgow MSP Ruth Davidson has urged tenants to apply, and you can read more on page 10.
We’ve introduced a new Home MOT system, which will help give tenants peace of mind. Tradespeople from our partners at City Building will give tenants’ homes a quick once-over to sort any minor problems – and stop them turning into more serious problems. Find out more on page 3.
Our new scrutiny panel of tenants and residents will help shape our services and make sure we get things right for our customers. It’s a great opportunity to infl uence what GHA does, and I’d recommend anyone to get involved. Full details are on page 11.
