I would like to thank you for cutting down trees in my back garden. The men came out and tidied the back and did a good job. They were so nice and helpful. What a difference. Thanks again. Jean Muir, Lossie Street, Riddrie.
Thanks for your letter. Enjoy spending time in your garden!
Dear the Key
A canopy was fitted over our front door in 1989 which has never been maintained or painted. I kept up the maintenance myself, but I am now 71 and have serious health problems and cannot manage this any more. Is there any way you can have someone paint it?
Hugh Brown, Linthaugh Road, Pollok.
Work on your canopy will be carried out very soon. We are also planning on upgrading 17 other homes with canopies in your street.
Dear the Key
There is a path behind my house which is badly in need of repair. My wife, who is 70 and has mobility problems, fell recently. I’d be very grateful if you could help make it safer.
Fred Edwards, Mossvale Walk, Craigend.
This work will be put to the next East Area Committee for a decision. Your Housing Officer Christine Gilmour will keep you up to date.
YOUR LETTER
We’re always pleased to hear from you, so keep your letters coming
Dear the Key
A fence at the back of our house was blown down in January. It was erected as a sound barrier and a safety fence when the M77 was built. But seven months on it hasn’t been fixed. Charles Wood, Corkerhill Place, Corkerhill.
We’re sorry this has taken longer than planned. The fence was put up in July, and we hope you are happy with it.
Dear the Key
I’ve been trying for years to get a tree on the pavement outside my living room seen to as it makes my home so dark I have to switch the lights on. I phone about it and I’m told someone will get back to me, but they never do. I hope you can solve my problem for me.
Kathleen Brown, Carntyne. This tree is on council land, not GHA’s. We are working with the council to get this resolved for you as soon as we can.
Dear the Key
I have large trees at the back of my garden which are falling into my neighbour’s garden. I am 84 and this is causing me a lot of stress. I have also complained several times about my broken gas meter box. The gas board said it was dangerous and should be fixed but said it was GHA’s responsibility. I feel my requests are falling on deaf ears.
Margaret Greenshields, Tanfield Street, Springboig.
