n RACE DAY l Don’t forget your race number and post race meal ticket on Race Day!
n THE START l The 5K will start at 10.00am at the Bught Park. l At the Start a fun aerobic warm-up will take place. l There will be a staggered Start - all adults and sec- ondary school runners will start first, followed by all primary school runners and wheelchair participants one minute later. Please follow marshals’ instructions carefully. l We encourage parents/guardians of runners aged 8 and under to participate in the event and support as required. l Adults wishing to escort wheelchair participants are welcome to do so.
n THE ROUTE l The 5K Starts on the Bught Park and heads along Ness Walk with the River Ness on the right hand side, turning left on to Ballifeary Lane and left again at Springfield Gardens. The route then follows the edge of the Bught Park to the River Ness and crosses the Is- lands. The route then follows Ness Bank into the heart of Inverness. Runners will turn left over the main town road bridge and left again immediately after the bridge into Ness Walk. The route continues along the edge of the River Ness, along Ness Walk, Bishops Road and Bught Road to the Finish at the Bught Park.
n WHEELCHAIR ENTRY l The race is fully wheelchair accessible and we wel- come wheelchair entries. If you wish to compete in a wheelchair, please contact us before 10 September

n DISCOUNTED ENTRY FEES FOR SCHOOLS, CLUBS & DISABLED GROUPS l Schools, clubs and disability groups are invited to enter teams to run the 5K Fun Run through our Schools and Clubs Initiative, which offers reduced entry fees. l For further information about putting in a team please email

n THE FINISH l The Finish is at the Event Village at Bught Park alongside the River Ness. The Finish area is a secure area with no public access. Once across the Finish you will be presented with your finishers’ medal, t- shirt and fantastic goody bag. All 5K finishers receive complimentary Baxters soup and roll – don’t forget your food ticket! l Friends and family cannot enter this secure Finish area but can wait within the Event Village to meet up with runners. A clearly signed Meeting Point will be available within the Event Village.
n SHOWERS/CHANGING/MASSAGE l Showers are located at Bught Stadium within Bught Park, behind the Event Village. l A changing tent is located within the Event Village. IMPORTANT: Please note that showers/changing are not available within Inverness Sports Centre. l Massage is available within the changing tent for a donation to charity.

n ENTRY TO THE WEE NESSIE l The Wee Nessie is open to pre-school children aged 5 and under. l All children must be accompanied by an adult. l Pre-event entry fees are £3 - please enter online at
www.lochnessmarathon.com. l Entry fee includes finishers’ medal, t-shirt, Highland Spring water and a snack.
n THE ROUTE l The Wee Nessie starts and finishes within the Event Village at Bught Park and follows a short (approx 400 metres), circular route around the Event Village which is safe for kids. It allows the children to walk, jog or run at their own pace.
