RACE INFO SUPPLEMENT n

n SLOW RUNNERS l We have priority on all roads along the route. As the race progresses, roads will be opened up to allow oncoming traffic to travel on these roads; at times this will be in the same direction as the Marathon. l We would ask runners expecting to take longer than 5 hours to use the pavement on the left hand side through Inverness. l Race organisers start to dismantle the course from 15.00 onwards. NB Safety support and drinks will be available for the duration of the event.

n RETIRING l For runners retiring along the route, there is a sweep bus that follows the rear control vehicle. l Please notify an event official at the nearest drink station or a medical team of your wish to retire, and then indicate to the bus as it passes that you wish to be collected. l For safety reasons, please do not leave the course without informing an event official.

n THE FINISH l The Finish is at the Event Village at Bught Park alongside the River Ness. l The Finish area is a secure area with no public access. Once across the Finish you will be present- ed with your finishers’ medal, t-shirt and fantastic goody bag. There is also a complimentary post- race meal (soup and main course) for all Marathon runners. Don’t forget your food ticket!

l You should aim to retrieve your own bag from the baggage vehicles. Baggage lorries will be clearly signed with the runners’ numbers. l Friends and family cannot enter this secure area but can wait within the Event Village to meet up with runners. A clearly signed Meeting Point will be available within the Event Village.

n SHOWERS/CHANGING/MASSAGE l Showers are located at Bught Stadium within Bught Park, behind the Event Village (approx 250 meters). Please see Event Village plan on p.3. l A changing tent is located within the Event Village. IMPORTANT: Please note that showers/changing are not available within Inverness Sports Centre. l Massage is available within the changing tent for a donation to charity.

n SPECTATORS l The final 4 miles through Inverness provide the best vantage points for spectators. l Bike access is possible along the route from Foy- ers to the Finish. We request that spectators do not cycle alongside runners. l The Foyers Stores and Dores Inn provide good vantage points. l Please note that there can be no spectator/ vehicle access to the Start due to logistical/safety reasons. l Everyone is encouraged to come to the Finish to welcome home all runners, and enjoy the entertain- ment and festival atmosphere.
