• The largest percent increase from 2000 to 2010 occurred in the Retirees life stage group. This may reflect both the aging baby boomer generation and Cedar Falls’ grow- ing attractiveness as a retirement destination.

• The median age in Cedar Falls was 26.8 in 2010 and 26.6 in 2000.

RACE / ETHNICITY Tables1.5 and 1.6 illustrate the racial/ethnic composition of Cedar Falls in 2000 and 2010. Key Findings Include:

• From 2000 to 2010, the percent of residents identifying as white decreased between 1-3 points and the percent of residents identifying as all other races/ethnicities in- creased for Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, and the State of Iowa.
