On the judging panel for the Hair category were Natasha Murphy, Angie White and Robyn Kristad. The judges were looking for skills and techniques from the stylists. Kayleigh Petty from Bijou was selected as the winner with her theme ‘Circus’ used a variety of techniques to create her look of vivid red and black twits. It was a real head turner creation.

Last year’s winner Taidi Homes was on hand to present the prizes to this year’s winners.
The evening ended with the surprise to many the retirement of college tutor Kathy Norris. It was Kathy who started the IOW College Hair Shows, which have grown and grown in success.
Paul Buckland from the college, who was also this evening compare announced that Kathy should come back next year to be on the judging panel herself!
Course tutor and event organiser Lucy Vandercasteele said “We had such a fantastic evening with an audience of over 400. I am delighted that it was such a huge success as the hairdressing staff, salon owners and students put so much effort in from the planning and design work, researching the costumes and hairstyles to actually perfecting it all together on the day.”
Big thanks and well done to all students and models that took part in this event and worked hard to produce such professional results. Special Thanks to photographer Jason Swain for capturing such beautiful photos during the event.
